Moving off the DNS 343

Will my current RAID-5 Array be recognisable on any other raid system, such as that of FreeNAS etc?

That is: If i remove all 4 disks, and place them onto another system, can that system recognise it as RAID 5? What is the DNS343 using as it's software RAID?

Thanks,
Frank.

Re: Moving off the DNS 343

Linux with mdadm (while that's not a complete answer)

AIX's LVM was fabulous in that you could import Phys Volumes and with them their volume groups.

I've never tried it on Linux.

That's an interesting question that would end me up just copying stuff over.

Ben - Don't Ask me how I fixed it - I have no idea what I'm doing!
