Foregin characters
Im having some issues with foreign characters åäö in the filesystem of my DNS-313.
Here are some ways i tried creating new folders:
*** SMB way using Windows Explorer in Win 7 ***
Created folder 'test_åäö' succesfully and returns 'test_åäö' over SMB but 'test_åäö' over telnet and VSFTPD.
*** Telnet way using Putty ***
Created folder 'test_åäö' in commandline and shows 'test_' over SMB, telnet, and VSFTPD.
** VSFTPD way using FlashFXP ***
Created folder 'test_åäö' and shows 'test_' over SMB, telnet, and VSFTP.
Any known cure for this charset mess?
ÅÄÖ is a part of ISO-8859-1 and UTF8.

DNS-323 - Excellent in many cases.
DNS-313 - Love it, but hate that D-link only prior the DNS-323 development.
DSM-G600 - Noisy, slow, unstable and ugly. I simply hate it so far.

Oh, when I set putty to translate everything over telent to UTF8. I can create the folder test_åäö and it is created and displayed correctly. SMB sees it fine too, but not VSFTPD.
So I suppose either FlashFXP or VSFTPD is not supporting UTF-8. When logging in to FTP I can see this in the status log:

I downloaded FileZilla that I know has UTF-8 support and did I get happy? 
SMB is UTF-8
Telnet is UTF-8
VSFTPD is UTF-8
Now, all clients must use UTF-8. (FlashFXP 3.6.0 does not)

by dont recognize i meant didnt recognize my character setting. the usual problem with 7bit ascii clients.
