Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

I have set user permissions through the web utility so that I can password protect the Volume_1 folder but I would like to set a password for the whole drive. Ideally I would like it that when the IP is typed in, the DNS prompts for password before even showing the folders. I have limited linux knowledge so a non-linux solution would be preferred but I am willing to try anything.

I don't really understand what type of access to your files, you are using. Is it a Windows network drive (samba share) ?

Yes it is a windows share drive technically. In the root of the drive there are the Volume_1, BT, Printer and webpage folders. The Volume_1 drive is the only one that I can password protect through the web utility. But if someone were to type in "//128.XXX.XXX.XXX" (the actual IP) they can access the root of the drive. The BT and web page folders are not password protected or write protected and I would like it so that either they are protected or the root is protected.

Ok: I am currently using firmware 1.03, so I don't have the Printer and BT folders. (only the Volume_1 is visible, and it is password protected).
That's the reason why I don't really know how to solve this problem ...
