Make sure that folder exists, the naming of the folders, including capitals, needs to be spot on

Re: Sabnzbd, Sickbeard & CouchPotato on DNS-320

Ok.. but I didn't figure that could be a problem as I can start the Sabnzbd manually just fine? Wouldn't it have the same problem?

And after I started it, I placed a file in the "watched" folder and it grabbed it and downloaded it?

Re: Sabnzbd, Sickbeard & CouchPotato on DNS-320

Have you tried what I posted or not? If the folder path is right then there's an access problem, permissions snag

It's there in your log bud, it's giving the signal 15 to shutdown

Re: Sabnzbd, Sickbeard & CouchPotato on DNS-320

Ok... so at 5:57pm (my time) after following the directions you gave I restarted my NAS. Sabnsbd did not start. I looked at the log... there was no mention of that time in the log. So then I manually started the program and ran the log again (below).
So the "auto" start-up didn't even show up in the log. The 10:08 log must be from a manual start... then no mention of the auto attempt and then the 17:59 is again a manual start. Looks like the auto start isn't even making an attempt at starting?

Re: Sabnzbd, Sickbeard & CouchPotato on DNS-320

Then you have change something, as that signal 15 error is during the starting of sabnzbd and therefore shutsdown. if u can run it manually and it runs, there's no signal 15..... Its runs

Type

Service sabnzbd start

If tgat starts up sab then your script will try to run sab on boot

Re: Sabnzbd, Sickbeard & CouchPotato on DNS-320

Found your snag

Your sabnzbd folder is named SABnzbd, your startup script says its folder is sabnzbd

As root

nano /etc/init.d/sabnzbd

Change this:

  /usr/bin/sudo -u root -H /home/tommymsw/sabnzbd/SABnzbd.py -d -f /home/tommymsw/.sabnzbd/sabnzbd.ini

To:

  /usr/bin/sudo -u tommymsw -H /home/tommymsw/SABnzbd/SABnzbd.py -d -f /home/tommymsw/.sabnzbd/sabnzbd.ini

Re: Sabnzbd, Sickbeard & CouchPotato on DNS-320

What have you named your sabnzbd startup script in your etc/init.d folder?

And did you:

update-rc.d sabnzbd defaults

As mentioned Afew pages back?

If your script is named differently, amend the above with whatever you named it and also make sure your linuxrc file points to that script

Yes I noticed that. Thank you! At this point I could have helped you a lot more (now that I have a better idea what this all does), but when I did this the first time... I was blindly copy and pasting! lol

No disrespect to terra, if you need to start fresh, once your have Debian squeeze on your nas, have a look at this guide,

You can always delete the log file. SABnzbd will just create a new one.

#cd .sabnzbd/logs
#rm sabnzbd.log

You can restart the NAS after that.

Re: Sabnzbd, Sickbeard & CouchPotato on DNS-320

Ok... now problem #47! lol

So I was going to test the programs before going crazy with them. I tried to set SB up to download something but when I got to the "choose directory" part, I have no access to any of the "root" folders. /Shows (for example). It only lets me choose from the directories in the "squeeze" folder! What am I supposed to do? Place everything in the squeeze folder?

The devils in the details. I have been correcting little mistakes like this on the guide. It should be all up to date.

Browse from what it shows you to (your squeeze folder)

mnt/HD/HD_a2/....

Sound familiar? smile

Within the squeeze folder there is mnt directory that includes access to your folders.

SSH as root
$cd /mnt/HD/HD_a2/
$ls -al

I wouldn't use a folder created by root. The shares that you create in the Dlink WebGUI will be visible, but the rights will be different in Debian. So you have to allow full rights.

chmod 777 -R /mnt/HD/HD_a2/whatever_your_download_folder_name_is
chmod 777 -R /mnt/HD/HD_a2/whatever_your_show_folder_name_is

Re: Sabnzbd, Sickbeard & CouchPotato on DNS-320

It will have full rights, the shows were not created by root, and sab changes the permissions to whatever you set on completion of a download
He copied these over from a windows machine, the rights are fine

And if you wanna chmod recursively use -r and .
You could do the lot in one command

Ok... that worked. SB snatched a file and gave it to Sabnsbd and put it in the temp directory.

Forget all that if you read it before I deleted it. You guys are smart... you figure if you don't answer, I will eventually figure it out! lol

I made a dumb mistake! lol

Because I have never even been able to get the libraries to form when trying to share them on xbmc. Even when I was only doing it from my PC. I don't know what I can be messing up... it's like 3 lines of simple code!

I put the advancedsettings.xml folder in place, but I can still see the xbmc updating to the local directory! And a database never gets created on sysql!

I believe this is out the scope of this thread. Create another thread and I will help you with what I can.

Re: Sabnzbd, Sickbeard & CouchPotato on DNS-320

How about this?

» Repair failed, not enough repair blocks (57 short)

Normally I just go to my "download" folder and try to repair with Quickpar.

But when I go to the /Downloads/incomplete folder that I made and directed Sabnzbd to, the folder for the download is there, but it is empty. There is also another folder there with the name of something that is currently being "verified" and it too is empty. So the files must be elsewhere?

But I can't find them. This file structure is different than it was on my PC. Any idea where "failed" files go?

Some idea of how you set your file structure up (if yours is working) would be a great add to this tutorial.

Everything should work the same way as the PC version. The incompletes should be there. SABnzbd unrars files in the incomplete folder if they bomb out they remain there for you to repair.

Might be a good idea to use FileZilla to sftp in the NAS to see where the files are. SABnzbd might also provide some information.
