Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

Hi everyone,
this is another NAS (sold with multiple branding) with similar HW features. It is also based on RDC-CPU, ITE8211F, RT2560, 32MB-RAM, 4MB-FLASH. We are currently working with an allmost full released GPL improving the functionality. Allthough the memorylayout is different from your device, the sources may help you forward. We also have a working JTAG and RS232 console. Have a look over at the forum or the wiki.
I would be very interested if you could provide me with an image from your flash. This can be done by e.g.
cat /dev/mtdx > /tmp/mtd0.img
please modify the path accordingly. Either there is mtd0 giving a 4MB file or please step up from 0 to 4 or 5 until you have 5 files with approx 1MB, 64k,64k,2.7MB,128k
thank you very much

Remark: according to the GPL the vendor/manufacturer has to give you the full source, tools and scripts that are needed to produce the exactly same binary that is on your device, not only some packages without scripts etc. You should fight for your right and report this product to www.gpl-violations.org.

sorry to tell you budt dlink have lost the civil lawsute about the dsm-g600 over 1 year ago and have not provided what we need, that proves the GPL licens kind of useless....

Hi,
yes, but maybe Trendnet behaves different. Sometimes there are companies that have little bit of morals and ethic left....
And even gpl-violations.org only can get active when they get information about gpl violations. And I'm sure it is much easier in case of repeated infringements where there has been a verdict allready .

P.S.: I would really appreciate a flash image of the TS-I300 box to see how compatible the HW is. Maybe together we can build an useable source-base. I would also appreciate some pictures (existing links?) of the pcb to see the used ICs.

Hi,
hmmm, either noone has such TS-I300 box or nobody here has real interest in doing some development, meaning the existing FW for the box has to be excellent and close to perfect. Then I can understand D-Link.
But I never saw D-Link sw that was closer to perfect than Windows is to a real OS.

It looks like TS-I300 is not very popular device.
All I know about this device is posted here: http://dns323.kood.org/forum/t217-TSI300W.html
You can find shipping version of firmware also from there. There are also some links to reviews which has internal pics
