How to install asterisk

Hey guys,

I have already install funplug in DNS-323. Now, I would like to know how to get asterisk running.

Re: How to install asterisk

Thank you. Have you try it? Do I need to install it in any sequential order?

install optware as per the wiki, then the package you want.  if there are any dependences optware will automatically install them for you (it tells you what it is doing, so you won't end up with a load of stuff that you don't know about sitting on your disk) and you can uninstall them/it via optware later if you need to.

Re: How to install asterisk

Okay, I was able to install asterisk.

Now,  when I tried to run the program I get this "Unable to connect to remote asterisk (does /opt/var/run/asterisk.ctl exist?)"

I look into /opt/var/run directory and the asterisk.ctl file is there.

Do I need to enable anything for it to work?

Re: How to install asterisk

There're asterisk (1.2), asterisk14 (1.4), and asterisk16 (1.6). You probably want 1.4.
Ask on nslu2-asterisk yahoo group if you have any further questions, since the maintainer of these packages will be there.
Search for some guide, e.g. http://nslu2-voip.blogspot.com/2007/12/ … tep-1.html

Re: How to install asterisk

Yes, I installed 1.4 and I posted a question on the nslu2-asterisk yahoo group.

Has anyone using a DNS-323 got asterisk to work successfully?
