Seeking Clarity on ffp Samba

I've installed and managed to enable the Samba package on my DNS323. Prior to running the samba.sh script I use killall smbd and killall nmbd to stop local services. Doing so results in an error "killall: cannot kill pid 1603: No such process". Although the PID may be different, the error remains the same when killing the local samba install. What can I do to resolve this error.

Also; to enable access to shares I found it necessary to copy the smbpasswd file from the /etc/samba directory to the /mnt/HD_a2/ffp/etc/samba/private directory. Is there a need to copy other files from DNS root directories to ffp directories? In which directories are new groups and users created?

With appreciation

A Samba Newbie

Thanks lu. That's much cleaner.

Can you shed any light on location of config files?
