Did you notice the line at the top of the page - it reads ...

Look at the top and click the link for the wiki, expand howto and look for fun_plug - and get ready to gain some experience with command line linux.
Good luck.

The short version of what fun_plug (ffp 0.5 at least) is:
An extremely easy way to gain access (telnet) to the operating system (linux) after which you can modify settings, load additional programs and perform lots of other actions that otherwise you would not be able to do.
If the out-of-the-box functions are all you need, then ffp isn't necessary, but it could help increase performance, reduce resource usage, make the device more stable, etc.
