Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

Can anyone confirm compatibility with FFP0.5, usbmodule, etc?

Thank you, D-Link.
ffp 0.5 works for me. I don't have the usb module installed, but dmesg outputs Linux 2.6.12.6-arm1, so I imagine the usb module will work like before.

Thanks D-Link.
I have FFP 0.5 and I'm using a USB flash drive with no problem. I didn't even have to change any settings.
I don't use any of the media streaming or DLink add on modules so I'm not much of a test for Beta.

does this have the C1 fan problem fixed?

Dlink do you have any release notes?

Mine DNS-323 just arrived, I have two Samsung F4's, so I set it up (it's formatting atm), then update to 1.10beta and then format them again and they'll be done properly with the 4k sectors?

That's great thanks.
Also when are your forums coming back online (been down all day)?

Hi Dlink,
Are Hitachi Deskstar 7K3000 2TB now officially supported? They're 4K drives and came out last December. The exact model number is:
Vendor Model
Hitachi HDS723020BLA642
The issue I'm having is that when I first put the drive in the NAS, I get the purple light. I was able to format the drive using EXT3 and after rebooting the drive light went back to blue. During formatting and now when I'm trying to copy data over to the Hitachi drive from my old WD Caviar 500GB drive, the NAS frequently hangs (file copy stops). No web access and no SMB connection either. I need to manually unplug it and restart the device.
FWIW, the NAS is attached to a Mac running OS X 10.6.6 with a cross-over cable (no router in between) set to 1000 Mbit transfer rate and Jumobframes enabled (MTU 4000). This configuration has been reliable with the WD drives, only when I put in the Hitachi drive I was starting to have these issues. I've tried both FW 1.08 and 1.10 beta 5. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Try the new 1.10B5 and format the drives ext3 not ext2, this works for the samsung drives..

Yes, that's what I have.

I've just bought a DNS-323 and I'm looking to buy a couple of 2Tb drives to go in it. I figure it probably isn't worth buying the drives until the 1.10 firmware comes out of beta.
So my questions for d-link are:
1. What time-frame are we looking at for the full release of 1.10 firmware (ballpark is fine)
2. Is there a recommendation for the best 2Tb drives to buy?
TIA

Just installed this firmware, streams videos to PS3 quite well and funplug going strong. I was going to install twonky but just gonna stick with this for now. Awesome to see this released after the product being out for so long!

The UPnP server hasn't indexed all my folders. Strange stuff.

I have the same failure: UPNP server does not add new files. The rest of this firmware is running well.

It took a bit less than 2 hours to index 120 gigs of old videos i had. But once that was done, i was able to watch most of them through the ps3 without any problems. I'm impressed by this firmware.

Maybe I was asking a bit too much to index around 800gb of videos .. i started it up again and it seems to have got them all this time

I assume this beta version works great with WD20EARS + Transmission and Automatic?

Yes, the fan on my C1 now only comes on when required... silence at last!

I know this is a massive necro-bump but I see that this is now an official 1.10 release:

Will upgrading this firmware overwrite all my funplug settings and stuff?
I'm thinking that as long as I didn't copy the ffp versions of busybox to the actual device itself there should be no effect?
