K so i bought my dns sometime in Nov 2007 and among all the boxes of revision A1, i found a couple marked as B1... Since B1 looked like a newer product i obviously got that one....
Any noticeable differences between the 2 revisions other that the packaging was in a brown box as opposed to the green box of the A1?

I've got a B1; only difference I have seen is a different component layout, and it uses an 88F5182 processor instead of the 88F5181. Having said that, I've absolutely no idea what the difference between the two processors is.

Did a quick google search and found that the 88F5182 processor has built in bittorent support...

It's also the same chip being used by the linkstation pro by buffalo...
so far there are no indications by dlink to offer a new firmware that takes advantage of this functionality...

I have noticed on the Australian Dlink Download page, there is a need to decide if your unit is "A" or "B" revision. "A" revision has firmware 1.03 for download and "B" revision has firmware 1.04 for download. Does this mean "A" revision is not upgradeable to 1.04?

DLink Australia seems to be the only support site making that distinction - I have a US purchased A1 revision and I'm running 1.04 firmware downloaded from the US support page, a CRC check shows it to be the same version as that on the Australian site.
