Need help with DNS323!
I can't delete few (non)empty directories from my hard drive. While I was copying some data to my DNS323 hard drive I accidentally disconnect power suply cord (don't ask me how :-/ ).
Now I can't delete 2 directories. I mage to delete files from them, but when I'm trying to delete directory I get message: error deleting directory!
I'm total linux newbie so plz help!
I have fw 1.03 and EXT2 file system. Since in fw 1.03 there is no scandisk or defrag option I don't know how to check-fix disk read/write errors!
I even tryed to put HDD im my Windows PC with FS driver for windows (http://www.fs-driver.org/). But windows chkdsk or scandisk option doesn't work (raw disk can't be checked). I can see my whole disk and files stored, but I can't check it for errors in windows machine.
Only idea that I have is to re-format my disk from DNS323 user interface but idea to lost 500Gb of stored data... off course I don't have enough space to copy all stuff on the other location.. :-(
Any suggestions?
PS.
sorry for my bad english :-)

Are you logged as root? If not, check if owner of file is root. Only root will be able to delete root's files.

Since you're asking for suggestions - here's one - find some way, any way, to backup that data, because you obviously don't have it backed up, the last price I paid for a 500GB drive was $99, surely the data is worth more than that.
Consider this experience to be fate giving you a tip off - a power outage during a write can corrupt your disk to the point where it is completely unreadable - this time you were lucky, next time you may not be.

yep. but still can't delete it.
I made that directory and now after power failure it can not be removed.
I think that problem is in "lost chains" on something.
i.e. when you have disk errors on windows system, after you run error checking of the drive and make "disk repair" everything is OK.
so i guess that I need something like that to do to fix errors on drive
