Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

I have 2 x Seagate SATA Barracuda 500Gb drives in my DNS323 box & from day one whenever I turn the unit on (from the front panel), only one drive boots up & works. The blue light on other drive/Volume simply flashes on this drive & I can not access it.
If I log into the unit as the administrator & tell it to do a System Restart, t resets the unit & then both drives are acessable as normal. So from a cold boot, only 1 dirve works until I restart the DNS323 & then both work perfectly.
Any ideas what could fix this (firmware upgrade perhaps or some other software to to a full restart upon turning the units on?
I guess I could leave the unit on all the time, but that fan noise driv me nuts...
Any help apprecaied.
Best Regards
gregster

Many of today's drives use some sort of "staggered spin up" so that the combined current draw of all the drives starting simultaenously does not overload the power supply - it could be that one of your drives does not spin up fast enough to be detected as ready.
Check the drive documentation to see if there is a jumper that enables/disables this feature.
