DSM-G600, DNS-3xx and NSA-220 Hack Forum

Ok, while installing some new wall-lights last night, I tripped the central earth-loop detector and plunged the house into darkness .

This morning I find my DNS-323 (single 500GB Samsung Drive) isn't talking to me anymore. When I log in as Admin, it says the HD isn't formatted, and wants me to reformat. So I stop the session to check-out what the forum says.

After searching I figure I should pull the drive out of the DNS323, install it & an EXT2 IFS (http://www.fs-driver.org/) on my PC and hopefully copy all my data off the drive.

However.....

Now, I find my PC reports 3 volumes, 2 of which are 'Linux' (500MB & 460GB) and not readable, and 1 'ext2' (200MB) which only contains a single empty folder called 'lost & found'.

So am I hosed ?. Is there no-way to recover my data ?

Any help or advice (other than buy a UPS or employ an electrician next time ) gladly received
