Hi all,
Installed a DNS-323 yesterday. Seems to work pretty OK (although I have some glitches) but I've got a silly question at the moment: I enabled the upnp AV Server, but how do I connect to it? I want to use a laptop with Windows Media Player or Winamp as client, but the only way to access the media is by browsing the old fashioned way and opening files (which works, by the way). Is there supposed to be some sort of auto detection or do I have to trigger a network search in WMP or Winamp?
Any comment appreciated!
Regards,
Rudy

Additionally: got version 1.04, wired to router, wireless XP Home client, no firewalls enabled. I'm using the iTunes server as well, and iTunes finds that server fine.

If you want to use Media Player as a UPNP client then you have to use Windows Vista - even if you install Windows Media Player 11 on Windows XP it won't work as a UPNP client. (Because XP doesn't have the PNP-X and Function Discovery API?)
I don't know about Winamp.
Can you add the network shares to your Media Player library? That would probably be better as Media Player can add cover art to folders and update file information where it's missing ...

Yes, I added the network shares to WMP; that works fine. Thanx! I'll exercise some patience on the AV server issue; was a nice-to-have in any case.
