Even though I kill mlnet process, smbd processes still exist.
I think this is all about smbd problem..
Any idea?

any solution for that problem?
Offline
same here, noticed it today for the first time. any solutions?
i did killall smbd then restarted the smbd -D but it's still at 100%
i wouldnt be surprised if this happened on windows but linux.....
edit: i noticed two smbd -D processes consuming 100% of cpu weren't killed with killall command so i used kill -9 on them and restarted again.
everything's back to normal here - 0% cpu now but i hate unexplained stuff

Same for me.
SMBD at 100% with my account, and something with root, sometimes with nobody account
I need to restart all using: smb restart, but in this way I always lose transfers from my pc to nas
I noticed that this happen frequently if I explore the NAS from windows and if I'm using programs like flashfxp that are writing on the NAS.
Is there around some new versions of Samba that we can try with dns323?

Samba version 2.2.8a is in FWv1.01 - FWv1.03
Samba version 3.0.24 is in FWv1.04
Which firmware are you using?

Firmware 1.04
I've also tried this: http://dns323.kood.org/forum/t1949-samba-3.0.28a.html
But with no luck.
Maybe I need to activate the logs for Samba

I was using 1.04 firmware, but i replaced my NAS with a "small" homeserver. 4x 500GB, RAID5, Dual-Core... a little faster, than my old dns 323
