NO-IP and DNS-323 and me

Hello, I am a moderate experienced with Linux, and have managed many systems running Linux. Having said that and reading the forums/wiki it seems installing custom applications to this device doesn't sound hard. I want to install NO-IP on this thing so I can set it up to use my NO-IP account. If there is another software that will automatically register an IP address for me that would work too. I just need to have a host name for my dynamic IP and I currently use NO-IP but I want to turn my desktop off and since I have this thing doing FTP it makes sense for it to run NO-IP. Thanks in advance.

I don't know if you're aware of this - but - if you're running firmware 1.04, there is a built-in dymanic DNS client, unfortunately it doesn't work with NO-IP, just DynDNS and D-Link's free DNS service.

Great! I had a total newby question and you answered it greatly. I will use D Link's. How good is it? I haven't received my unit yet,  but I figured I would pin point all of my options prior to receiving it. Thanks so much!

The official noip client is in optware ipkg feed. Requires some setup.

see http://www.nslu2-linux.org/wiki/Optware/Dns323 for ipkg setup
ipkg install noip
/opt/bin/noip2 -h
