changing twonky configuration file with telnet

I'm trying to change the http port of the configurationpage of the twonkyserver from 9000 into 9090. This can be done by changing the twonkyvision-mediaserver.ini file. But when i try with telnet and the vi command (vi /mnt/HD_a2/twonky/twonkyvision-mediaserver.ini) the file consists of unreadable characters.
Under windows explorer i can read the file just fine, but cannot make changes.
Any solutions?

Re: changing twonky configuration file with telnet

So I guess you have something else running on 9000 already which is why you can't use the HTTP interface?

I just opened the file in Komodo in Windows (the free of charge Komodo Edit version is available for Linux/Mac/etc from http://www.activestate.com/Products/kom … ures.mhtml, paid for Komodo IDE is even better).

A comment at the top says the file is in UTF-16 (a version of Unicode), and Edit > Current File Settings in Komodo says that it also has Unix line endings (so it won't open properly in Windows Notepad, though it makes a better job of it than vi in my telnet session).

So one option for you is to get Komodo :-)

Hope that helps,
Steven
