eMail Messages Not Sent

I've been lurking in this great Forum for some time and must say the folks here and the support offered to others has been beneficial to me as well.

DNS323 FW 1.05.

email messaging has been successfully set-up and tested on my DNS323.  One of the options selected in the Alert Types section is Space Status, which is to be provided at 24 hour intervals. Why I'm I not seeing delivery of a message pertaining to this alert.

Could you post a screenshot of the email alerts screen? You can blank out the email details of course...

I've set up my account just as you do and i do get the email alerts every 24 hours... Sometimes more frequently depending on the options i chose...

From the screens looks like you have everything set up correctly...

So when did you set up the email alerts(like how many days ago) and how many disks do you have on the 323 and how much space is left?

I've two disks set-up in a RAID1 array. Information from an email (that arrived about fifteen minutes after posting the screen shot !) tells me Space = 312844 MBytes, Used space = 51776 MBytes, Free space = 261067 MBytes. email alerts have been set to run since I upgraded to FW 1.05 which was last Thursday.

I've no idea why it took from Thursday until today for the first email to arrive. Perhaps it has something to do with with the system being rebooted several times since upgrade of the FW. I've been tinkering with fun_plug, telnet, SSH and a few other fun_plug toys. Installation of some of those things required a reboot. I'm betting the email clock was reset with each reboot. Would that be the case?

Yes - it does - the DNS-323 seems to start the email alert clock from the time it boots - so if you set that for a twenty four hour interval and shut the system down every day, you'll never get the email.  Keep watching it, especially the time the email was sent and you'' find that it correlates to the boot time.

Ah... Looks like fordem beat me to the punch... lol

I've never rebooted/ powered down my 323 except for special occasions... So my emails are quite regular... Glad to hear you're finally receiving your emails... Cheers smile

Mine pretty much runs 24/7 - however - my utility power is really not that reliable, we might get a couple of five minute outages a day, or it might be longer.  Less than five minutes, we'll ride through on the UPS but anything longer and we'll either start a gasolene genset or shut stuff down depending on how critical things are, so the unit does get rebooted fairly regularly.
