You can get the DNS-323's temperature reading on the Status page. Please post:
1) Your hard drive make and model
2) ambient room temperature
3) DNS-323 temp when active
4) DNS-323 temp when idle
For me:
Hard drive (x2): 500GB Maxtor MaXLine Pro 500, Model 7H500F0
Ambient room temperature = 68 degrees F
DNS-323 system temperature, active = 120 degrees F
DNS-323 system temperature, idle = 102 degrees F
