Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

Greetings. first post though I've been lurking here for 6 months.
I just updated firmware from 1.03 to 1.05. After doing so, I go to the login page, type in my admin username and password, and get a blank screen at the "ttp://192.168.xxx.xxx/goform/formLogin" url. If I hit reload, I get the "can't establish a connection to the server" error.
I have the funplug installed, and I can telnet and access the data on the disks. I also have the data mirrored off on a third drive expecting to format the drives in the 323, but how do I do so if I cannot access the web admin?
Regards,

Interesting. This may help, but I cannot repeat the error.
How are your drives set-up? RAID, standard, etc?
If you still have telnet, I can get the formatted for you manually via telnet, but you should try to fix the web first. Try shutting down the system and rebooting it without either drive installed. See if that allows you into the web utility. If so, you may want to consider flashing 1.05 into it again with no drives attached. Then shutdown and put your drives back in.
If the web still doesn't respond with no drives in the DNS, then this is beyond my scope and you may want to look at the threads discussing recover from a bricked unit using a serial connection. If all goes well with no disks, but has issue when disks are in, try with just 1 disk and see what happens. Post back after trying this. If it is the disk, and you can get telnet, I can help you format them manually via telnet.
BEFORE you do anything, absolutly make sure all the data you want off the drives is backed up.

There are 2 500GB drives in standard setup /mnt/HD_a2 and /mnt/HD_b2.
I took the drives out and got the same result. Reset via back panel hidden button and re-accessed via easysearch and could get to the 192.168.0.32 address; reset the IP to an address on my net, accessed the root of that IP via a browser to get login screen, log in via admin/blank and I'm right back where I started: blank screen, then "can't establish a connection to the server" on refresh.
I didn't find much on recovering from a bricked unit using search; can you point me to a resource?
Thanks

Start here: http://dns323.kood.org/hardware:serial - you don't have to damage the box to do this, just run the wires out from the box. Next look here: http://dns323.kood.org/dsmg600/howto:recover
This is for the G600, not the 323, but it is very similar. There are a few guys on this forum that have fixed the flash this way. I am not one of them, so I really can't be too much more help. If you are expirienced in Linux, you may be avle to extract the files out in a telnet session and send them up to the flash. I can't say I have any expirience in this.

I would love to see someone describe restoration of DNS-323 in the same form as I am keen on trying out some adventerous changes ... for starters, to fix insomnia problem when unknown (to DNS-323) printer is connected.
