Hi,
I just bought the DNS-323, and have some problems. Looking for the solutions.
1- When I try to connect to the DNS via my network, I'm only able to put the password... Impossible to write down the username of preset users as it its written NAME_OF_THE_DEVICE/Guest and its grey. (Using Windows XP) Problem Solved : I'm using Windows XP Home and since you can't desactivate "Simple File Sharing", there's nothing to do about this. No problem with Windows XP Pro...
2- Unable to connect to a specific folder using MAC OSX 1.3.9. Example, User X can access Volume_1 completly and User Y can only access Volume_1/DATA/. I already configure access management rights in the device. When I logon to the device, I can only use User X username and password because User Y doesn't work. Even if I write the path smb://192.168.0.10/Volume_1/DATA/ it always go directly to Volume_1 and not Volume_1/DATA/. Problem Solved : I Just had to modify the path to smb://192.168.0.10/ I don't know why I didn't do it before...
3- Using the Schedule Downloads from the D-Link interface, I can schedule everything to backup a file from a MAC OSX comp, I even try the TEST button to see if everything is Ok, it tells me Test result: Successful File size: 1254677 Bytes. But when I save that Backup and click Download Now, the "L" logo for "Link" appears but, after awhile, it fails...
Any ideas for those problems
Thanks !!!

In Windows XP Go to Map Network Drive > Input Path to map to, \\NAS\\Volume_1, then there is an option below to connect "using a different username", select that and then input the username and password you have assigned.

Is your DNS-323 and XP system in the same WORKGROUP/Domain?
Offline
Boskoe : Yeah, its in the same workgroup.
Aaron : It works, but that doesn't solve my problem cause I want to access the dns323 via my network and log on each time somebody wants to access it. The way you are giving me unlocks it for every users log on to that computer.
