Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

Finally managed to browse subdirectories flawlessly from my popcorn hour using DNS-323 with many thanks to fonz for funplug and supamicha for advise on conceptronic firmware. For all others using a similar media setup:-
1. Install Conceptronic firmware - use instructions here http://dns323.kood.org/forum/t2265-nfsd … sd.sh.html from supamicha then upgrade to 1.04 RC1 http://dns323.kood.org/forum/t2310-CH3S … 4RC1.html. This just happened to preserve all my settings and data
2. Install funplug 0.5 and enable kernel nfs http://dns323.kood.org/howto:ffp
Hope others find this helpful, but it's obviously not without its risks

what was your reason for going with the kernel based NFS (and the need to use the different FW) instead of using the user space NFS (unfsd.sh). ? Was there something that unfsd didn't do that nfsd did ?
I aks because I am considering going that route myself and just wondered what your motivation or driving reason(s) was.
Thanks

I have a PCH and a dns323. Using the unfs3 server, sub directories aren't found for some reason I haven't tried messing around with the kernel nfs server. *shrug*.
My solution to this annoying problem was to create hard links to all my highdef content (.mkv) in a single directory.

I'm using CFULLHDMA FULLHD MediaPlayer with NFS.
When using latest firmware for CH3SNAS with nfsd.sh I do not get access to the CH3SNAS
when using unfsd.sh it's working flawlessly and awful fast.
Working with 0.5 of Fonz his fun_plug is much simpler than 0.4 but it gives me ?? why nfsd.sh is not working when mounting and unfs.sh is working ..
Even I tried to connect VMWARE ESX 3.5 to the DNS323/CH3SNAS with NFSD.SH and UNFS.SH
also here only unfs.sh is party ok.
Yes it's working to mount, I can store data on it, but I do not see any folder listing ???
'ls' seems not supported
So if someone has an idea....

Just install the llink media server - it works fine and you get a better transfer rate over http for all those HD mkv files.

Went to kernel nfs as my videos are stored as Video_TS rips with .ifo, this didn't work as user space nfs with PCH and IStar as they didn't browse the subdirectories and I couldn't configure llink to work properly with these folders either. Kernel nfs works flawlessly
