ftp folders disappeared

Was running 1.04 with mapping to dns 323 folders through outside ftp server and everything was working fine. Originally had to make dns 323 user name and password the same as ftp server computer login to work correctly. It was a permissions issue. Now that I upgraded to 1.05 all the folders cannot be seen when logging in via ftp. Anyone else having this problem.

Re: ftp folders disappeared

the ftp needs to be configured properly...

1. the dns doen't use passive mode.. so in your ftp client software.. force it to use active mode alone.. I recommend Filezilla for this.. go to settings, ftp.. change it to active only.. go to passive under ftp.. and also there change to active..

2. make sure your router is not blocking the ports.. in your router configuration page.. forward the ports 65501-65510 to your dns 323.

This is how I got the ftp to working properly

Re: ftp folders disappeared

I am not using the ftp server built into dns 323. I am using filezilla server on another computer and mapping to the folders on dns 323. Everything worked fine until I upgraded to 1.05 from 1.04. Now I cannot see the folders on the ftp server although it does connect up fine. It was the same problem I had originally with 1.04 when I set up the server but fixed it by making sure the user name and password on the ftp filezilla server and the dns 323 were the same. It was a permissions problem. I have checked that and nothing has changed.

I should note that I can stop and restart the service for filezilla server and get it to show folders and work fine, but only for about a day and then it resorts back to not showing folders.

Re: ftp folders disappeared

After loading the new firmware 1.05 (from 1.04) I noticed that the name of the root folder changed from something like "Volume_1_1" to "Volume_1" and I lost the mapped folder in Windows XP. Remapping solved the problem. Could this has somethin to do with your problem?

Re: ftp folders disappeared

I actually mapped the drive again after updating. Not sure what the problem is.
