Hi guys,
I compiled and packaged a bunch of stuff to get duplicity (http://duplicity.nongnu.org/) working on the dns323. It's been working perfect for me since June 1, let me know if you have any issues, etc...

btw, this is my very 1st blog post ever!
Anyway, let me know if I missed anything... I'll try to fix it asap.

Hi nUll,
As much as I'd like to help, compiling and testing for 1.04 would be way too painful as it's a completely manual process... and I don't have ffp0.4 installed anymore.
But seriously, the upgrade to 1.05 from 1.04 is really easy! It's worth it to be able to have cheap incremental encrypted backups
Good luck! I hope someone tests this and gives some feedback so I know it's working for someone other then myself.
Regards...

Could you post instructions to the Wiki or post here? Could you give us a sample .sh file that we noobs could use? One more thing how would one restore a backup? Thanks this sounds really great thanks for sharing!

Ok I tried via ftp but its apparent that the DNS-323 does not ftp out. If I type in ftp from the command line it just says file not found. Is there an ftp program I can install?

I've written about the shell scripts i use here:

@jrose78: I'm not sure about an ftp client for the dlink. If there is a simple one without a ton of dependencies, I could probably compile one for you. I'm not sure what duplicity expects for ftp though. I do know SSH works great! If you have access, you should use that
