Multiple DNS-323 on same network - connectivity issues

Help. I have 2 DSN-323 set up on the same network (with PC's running Vista and XP). Both DNS are configured for the same workgroup, they have different names and descriptions (using the set-up Wizard). Both have static IP addresses (yes they are diferent)

I connect to them as Mapped Network Drives using their separate IP addresses

My problem is that I can only connect to one box at a time from my PC's as the both show up as \\Volume_1\volume_1 when viewed on either XP or Vista.

When I check the Advanced Network Access settings again they both show that the only folder I can share is \\Volume_1

How do i configure it so that I can access both devices

Cheers

Re: Multiple DNS-323 on same network - connectivity issues

Check the names again - for both devices to show up as \\Volume_1\volume_1 - then both devices would have to be named Volume_1.

The syntax for a UNC (universal naming convention) share is \\server-name\share-name - what you should be seeing is for example \\DNS323-1\volume_1 & \\DNS323-2\volume_1.

You can also address them by ip address - \\192.168.0.21\volume_1 or \\192.168.0.22\volume_1 - of course, you'd have to use the appropriate ip addresses.
