I have a D-Link DSM-320RD (DVD-player etc.) with the Media Lounge application on it.
I would like to watch movies and pics on my TV directly from the DNS-323 so I don't have to start my PC. I can find the DNS but it says that there are no folders shared on it.
Does anyone have a simple (or advanced) solution for this?
Do I need an "anonymous" user for the DSM on the DNS-323?
Anyone got experience with this sort of use?

I think the problem is related to your UPnP setup on the DNS-323. Have no experience of Media Lounge, but according to specs it's using UPnP for streaming stuff. On your DNS, you need to enable UPnP and point the server to the location of your files:
http://support.dlink.com/Emulators/dns3 … np_av.html
If you've exported "root" then supported files types should be there for you. But, as you state that you can 'find' the DNS there might be something else. Make sure you have MultiCast enabled in the network between your DNS and the DSM.
And; as the UPnP is proprietry D-Link, there's little we can do. Can of course be disabled and replaced by an alternative UPnP server.

OK, there's a little checking and doing for me this evening. Thx so far :-)

UPnP was already turned on.
Instead of root I pointed at the directory where I keep my stuff and that did the trick.
Now I can watch my stuff without turning my PC on.
Thanks for leading me that way Apskaft :-)
