Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

Hi,
I have a CH3SNAS and I would like to backup volume_1 to Volume_2.
I see on the Wiki this is not possible from the standard software, so I wanted to give the ffp a try.
I'm a Windows user.
Till now it's not working correctly I think.
I have firmware version 1.03
I copeid the ffp 0.5 to both disks (volume_1 first, after that volume_2) and nothing happend. There was a log created:
**** fun_plug script for DNS-323 (2008-04-13 tp@fonz.de) ****
Mon Jun 23 21:02:52 GMT 2008
ln -snf /mnt/HD_a2/ffp /ffp
/ffp/etc/rc: Not found or not executable
**** fun_plug script for DNS-323 (2008-04-13 tp@fonz.de) ****
Tue Jun 24 20:08:56 GMT 2008
ln -snf /mnt/HD_a2/ffp /ffp
/ffp/etc/rc: Not found or not executable
I checked with ftp and the files have the 777 attribute.
After that I unpacked in a directory ffp (with winRAR) and put on volume_1 and volume_2.
Now I get this log:
**** fun_plug script for DNS-323 (2008-04-13 tp@fonz.de) ****
Tue Jun 24 20:18:12 GMT 2008
ln -snf /mnt/HD_a2/ffp /ffp
* Running /ffp/etc/rc ...
/ffp/etc/rc: rcorder: Input/output error
* OK
I tried to telnet to it, but that didn't work (forwarded port 23 to my CH3SNAS IP)
Both putty and builtin windows
Is the fun_plug started OK bow?
If not what should I do?
If yes, how can I reach with telnet?
Thanks for the help, Rob

Yes, I copied the 2 files to the volume.
First volume_1 then rebooted. Log file appeared on volume_2 so then I decided to copy them over to volume_2 as well.
From the FTP client program I saw volume 2 is my HD_a2.

Your log file should contain this, then:
ln -snf /mnt/HD_a2/ffp /ffp * Installing /mnt/HD_a2/fun_plug.tgz ... ... long list of files ...
If it doesn't, it didn't find fun_plug.tgz in /mnt/HD_a2.

Any tips or tricks?
I did all according to the readme file
