I followed the procedure by moquilok to install NFS on my DNS-323. I can telnet to the NAS no problem after installing fun-plug 0.4, portmap-6.0.tgz and unfs-3.0.9.18.tgz. I believe the NFS is running even though I have not yet been able to list any directory using NFS with my IStarHD. The problem is when I put back the second drive to the NAS, I no longer can use putty to telnet to the NAS. I got connection refused. I can still access the admin/setup web pages from the browser. Any help in solving the problem would be much appreciated. Also is there a link to a procedure to uninstall the above since I am having trouble getting the IStar to list any content using NFS?

Which drive bay is the second drive being added? Left bay (when looking at the power button) or the
right? I suspect your first drive is in the Left bay (when looking at the power button) and you are adding
a drive to the right side. If this is the case, put the first drive in the right bay (when looking at the power button)
and add the second drive to the left bay (when looking at the power button).

Mig: Thanks. That did the trick. It is opposite what the d-link documentation said. D-Link suggests to put the single drive on the left bay and not at the right bay. Now the fun-plug is showing up on Volume 2. I can telnet into the NAS. I did a ps and shows the following processes running. It does not appear that the nfs is running?
1764 root /mnt/HD_a2/fun_plug.d/sbin/telnetd -l /mnt/HD_a2/fun_plug.d/bin/
1776 root /mnt/HD_a2/fun_plug.d/sbin/rpc.portmap
1811 root smbd -D
1822 root /mnt/HD_a2/fun_plug.d/bin/sh
If it is, I still cannot map it to my IStarHD. Also is the second drive also automatically mounted since I did the install with a single drive? I am new to all to this and if I someone has already asked before, please be patient with me. Thanks.
