hm,
i'm from germany and already installed the 1.02 firmware some weeks ago. i think the firmware was for the us market.
1. should i keep the us firmware or should i reinstall the eu firmware?
2. is it necessary to backup the data on an other hard drive or is it riskless to do it on the runnig machine?

Well, I upgraded my unit from the 1.02 US version to the 1.02 EU version and that work fine. Only thing was that I had to make an extra reboot of the unit to get the samba resources visible again.

Don't waste your time with reflashing the box.....
Nasse:~# md5sum ??/NAS202A_DLINKEu_DNS323.1.02b114\(1.02.0110.2007\)

Only difference is that the se versions comes with a doc file ;-)

I think that we could guess that much :-) But still I think that the EU users should upgrade due to that D-Links claims that one voids the warranty if the US firmware has been installed. So if something goes wrong with the unit and it has to be sent in to D-Link, then peple at least has the correct version installed.
