Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

Re: cant login as root

i assume i will need to reset the dns, but i dont want to lose the data on the HDD's.

so what im looking for is instructions to reset only what is required so i can clear the user accounts and then resetup the DNS.
I have installed ffp 0.5, and plan on doing it again as soon as i have root access.

again thanks for any info you can provide.

Re: cant login as root

copy a fresh fun_plug.tgz, and it'll start an open telnet server.

Re: cant login as root

on this topic, is this not a slight security hole?
seems that anyone with access to the network share could then reset your root password.

meaning that any security you setup on folders is somewhat pointless.

have any comments on this, simply curious.

cheers

Set proper read/write rigths to fun_plug (root only) and the file can not be replaced by a non-root user.

I tell you what - do a forum search using security as a keyword and see what turns up.

As far as I'm concerned, this thing is just not meant to be used in an environment where high levels of security are required - it's for home use.
