DNS-323 Security

I have a DNS-323 on the way but I have some concerns about security.  As far as I can tell, it doesn't have any build-in security (encryption) with any of the D-Link firmware, right?  So what would be the best way to protect data against theft?  Admin login and volume passwords are all well and good, but that doesn't prevent anyone for just yanking the hard drives out and reading the data.

Truecrypt isn't an option (extra steps/programs/passwords in a house of computer illiterate people don't mix).

I second that... If security really is a concern, the DNS323 is not the product for you...
