Macs and Jumbo frames on fw 1.05

Has anyone with an Intel Mac (Macbook or iMac) tried enabling Jumbo frames (9000) on both the NAS and in the Mac network adapter settings?

Ive enabled it on the NAS and everything keeps working fine. When I enable Jumbo frames on the MAC network adapter accessing to the NAS simply times out.

The two units are connected by a Gigabit Dell switch that does support jumbo frames, although I am running it in managed mode (if that makes a difference!).

Gareth.

Yes, I have an intel based Imac 24" - jumbo ON.
Both baby (DNS-323, Imac) are connected to my DIR-855.

Superfast. :-)

Thanks craft. Okay think I need to check my Dell Switch then. However I guess the first test is a cross-over network cable to prove to myself that both Mac and NAS can talk.

It's the most likely the switch. I had a similiar issue with different hardware but with the same symptoms. After much testing, found out the problem was my router... But i managed to work around it...

See here for my post on the NAS timeout http://dns323.kood.org/forum/t2228-Weir … IC....html

Yep, it was the switch. I had it in unmanaged mode. Switching to managed mode and enabling Jumbo frames sorted it.
Thanks for your replies.
Cheers,
Gareth.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask but how do you enable jumbo frame in the Macbook?
