DNS-323 Bittorent Settings

Hello all, first post. Been trying to read this very informative forum and find a fix to my issue, but have not found one.

I have a newly updated 323 in which I am trying to setup Bittorrent. I am having a bit of trouble getting it to download anything, however.

I am sitting behind a D-Link 655 router and I have tried even DMZ on the 323 with no help. My downloads show up in the application screen but do not download or upload anything. No connection at all. I have not messed with the default port.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Windows XP
D-Link 655
COX Cable Internet
Latest firmware on 323... 2x's 640 Caviars

Thanks

Re: DNS-323 Bittorent Settings

Cna you download torrents from your computer?  I know COX in Virgina blocks UDP VPN connections, so it is possible that they block other things, too.  Also, try a different port, they could be blocking that.

Re: DNS-323 Bittorent Settings

Yes I can. It seems to be working on some torrent sites, and not on others, such as araditracker. I think it is because they track who is downloading what to control leechers.

Im working on FTP stuff right now, trying to log on but keeps timing out sad

Re: DNS-323 Bittorent Settings

Transmission and Clutch FTW (For the Win).

I found the inbuilt Torrent client to be much slower than my home PC.  I turned it off and installed Transmission and Clutch (see the thread here on how to install.  It really is very easy and has no risk of killing the NAS or voiding the warrenty).  Transmission downloads multiple torrents at the same time and does so faster then my PC (so it seems without measuring).

Basic installation would be;
Install ffp 0.5
Install php for web server
Install Transmission
Install Curl
Install Clutch

Queue torrents from the web browser (can be passworded if required, does not interfear with DNS admin webpages).  COnfigure from the webpage.

All instructions are in the thread on Transmission and Clutch.  Take a look.

This may not help if your ISP is blocking ports but will be faster than the torrent client put on the NAS in the Firmware.

Re: DNS-323 Bittorent Settings

Is there any way to monitor or see who is on my ftp, or downloading what?
