So can you use the hidden disk scan page or will it barf?

Ok, I'm a n00b so be gentle.

After doing my share of lurking, I've read that disk checking from the web interface was removed around firmware 1.03. This was seems stupid to me as I wanted to keep an eye on my raid 1 array. So I got telnetd running (thanks piotr) and was poking around in /sys/crfs/web_page/tools and found the file scan_dsk.asp. I pointed my browser to http://bob/web/tools/scan_disk.asp and magically the "removed" scan utilities page appears. From what I read there may have been "issues" with this utility. Of course, I'm crazy so I ran the utility. A quick check of the ps list revealed:

8036 root         96 S     scandisk /mnt/HD_a2 0
8043 root         76 S     scandisk /mnt/HD_a2 0
8044 root         68 S     sh -c /usr/bin/e2fsck -p -f -C 0 /dev/md0 2>&1
8045 root    43744 D    /usr/bin/e2fsck -p -f -C 0 /dev/md0

So, will this jack up my DNS or is it ok to run this instead of having to telnet into the box and run e2fsck manually? Thanks for the help.
