Alright I'm not a computer expert so this may seem stupid but I just purchased the DNS 323 to use with dlink wireless media player. I have gone over it and over it and I have followed all of the directions given to me but when I plug my 323 into my media player I just get no server found. Why is that? I can't find a freaking help thing anywhere out there. Your help is very much appreciated.
Thanks

What do you mean by "plug my 323 into my media player"?
What media player do you have? Does it support UPnP?
Maybe stupid to say but you have to plug both your 323 and UPnP media player into a router. Check through the web interface from a PC that all the options are correctly set and add content to the NAS.

most media players dont see the DNS323. I have emailed & called Dlink many time regarding this issue. I have tested xbox 360 and a Linksys media player, neither worked. It sucks because I have to copy my MP3/video collection to a slave drive just so I can watch my files on the network with most devices. However I can connect to the DNS with my original Xbox with XBMC installed on it!

As Laurent I have my DSM-320RD working with DNS-323.
I use cabled network.
Solved connectivity problems by connecting all equipment to a switch behind my Linksys router/firewall thus not letting traffic go through the firewall. Then DSM found the DNS.
Then uPnP on the DNS should be enabled. Pointed the standard folder to the folder where I keep my stuff instead of standard folder. Works like a charm.

I just came back from Fry's during lunch time a little earlier. I bought a new DSM-320RD (the one with the DVD drive) for $149.99 plus sales tax. It's weird that the internet/online stores price for this item is actually higher.
Anyways, I also have a ~3 years old GoVideo D2730 networked media+DVD player that I use to stream photos/music/etc to the TV. After plugging in the the DNS-323 the other day, this old player can actually find my DNS-323 server -- it shows the server's name on the TV/screen. Then I select it with the remote and this D2730 will try to access the DNS-323... and promptly locks up!!! Yaaay... I found a good excuse to get an upgrade. Will plug in the new DSM-320RD later tonight after I get home...
