Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

Hi!
I searched around the forums for a good thread but never came across something that was really what i was looking for.
Maybe I'm just a bad searcher or so =/
Anyways, topic says all. I want to set up a secure webserver on my D-link DNS-323. What's the easiest and most effective way?
I heard (and tried) fonz fun_plug was good but didnt really got it working (have formated the NAS about 4 times, bought it 2 days ago) and I'm tired of wasting time trying out. Besides I didn't really want that package because most of the stuff isn't something I'm gonna use or have any interests of.
But well, what best? fonz, get debian, write it all myself (in .sh files)?
Can anyone give out some good pointers?

I still suggest you take a closer look at fonz's funplug. Installation is really simple and there is not a lot "extra stuff" laying around apart from the webserver.

Ok, I did and I think I have installed a web server now (not php and mysql yet thou).
However, to test it i need to put a html page or something in the directory, right?
I don't really know how to do this anymore, can't FTP to my NAS or open it through the network. Can you upload files via telnet or something?
Also, I was checking out:
http://81.216.140.39/dns-323/mysql_and_php/
And when I'm trying to get the package via:
wget http://81.216.140.39/dns-323/mysql_and_ … 3-rc-2.tgz
I get to about 28% then I get the error "Short write". Anyone familiar with this?
