DDNS Hostname Blocked Due To Abuse

Hi,

Is it possible to fix this problem without using Linux?
I have a DNS-323, a router and two PC´s using XP and Vista.

Re: DDNS Hostname Blocked Due To Abuse

DDNS should be setup on your router.  Most newer routers are designed specifically to work with a variety of DDNS providers to ensure that your problem does not happen (too frequent of updates with no IP change to the DDNS system).  Routers that do not have company specific settings usually allow you to put in your own refresh frequency.  The DDNS provider I uses need a refresh between 28 and 30 days.

DNS-323     F/W: 1.04b84  H/W: A1  ffp: 0.5  Drives: 2X 400 GB Seagate SATA-300
DNS-323     F/W: 1.05b28  H/W: B1  ffp: 0.5  Drives: 2X 1 TB  WD SATA-300
DSM-G600   F/W: 1.02       H/W: B                Drive:  500 GB WD ATA

Re: DDNS Hostname Blocked Due To Abuse

Your better off using a XP or vista client - alot of the routers out there send the ddns info too often to the servers and gets ya disabled/baned - my Belkin router did it to me - so I have a win xp client running on one of the machines doing the updating...
