Secure FTP?

Just got a DNS 323 unit and found everything easy to set up.
The only thing I cannot figure out, how can I get the ftp server to run in sftp?
Any ideas?

Re: Secure FTP?

I just got this working, using the chroot to debian solution described in the wiki. I'm happy with this, but I don't think there is a way to do it "natively."

Re: Secure FTP?

Mhmmm, sounds quite envolved after looking into the description. I also don't understand as to where in the scripts I would have to change settings to get a secure ftp server running as I am not a programmer, nor do I have another Linux system to start off with.

Any other suggestions for a simpler solution? Is there mybe a custom firmware out there that I can use? I have not been able to find one yet.

Re: Secure FTP?

If you use the example linuxrc script included in the instructions, that starts sftp (as part of ssh), so you won't need to modify anything.

The process is a little involved, but it's not *too* bad. You can skip the part at the top under "create a minimal image" if you just download one of the images below. Not for the faint of heart, but not totally overwhelming, either.

AFAIK there is no custom firmware for this kind of thing available (yet).
