Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

Greetings,
Has anyone tried to get the hfsplus (http://www.ardistech.com/hfsplus/) kernel module compiled and installed on their DNS-323? I'd love to be able to hang standard Mac drives - or even an iPod - off the USB port, particularly as media repositories for Firefly.
Given that hfsplus doesn't support writing to HFS+ journaled filesystems, you'd probably want to make sure that fun_plug mounts any HFS+ formatted device read-only, but that's a simple command-line switch to mount.
I might take some time to do this if nobody else has...particularly if someone's already created a Parallels VM containing the cross-compiling environment. I'll ask about that in another thread

I would be interested in using this if you or anyone else has compiled it. I keep backups on a hfsplus formatted drive in a usb/firewire enclosure and it would be much faster for me to load them onto the dns-323 via usb (up to 480 mbps) than through slower router connections I have to use (less than 100mbps). Any word on if this has happened yet?

I too am wondering if anyone has mounted hfs+ volumes onto the DNS-323 using a compiled kernel extension. Would be quite neat. Any news?

Anyone? Hope there are more Mac users out there...
