Volumes and HDD

I have two HDD in my DNS 323
1 120gb seagate in slot 0 (left)
1 500gb seagate in slot 1 (right)

So, how do I make the 500 gb seagate to be volume 2 instead of volume 1?
What are the steps?

My goal : install transmission on it and download on the 120 gb hdd instead of the 500 gb hdd

btw, my DNS is hot to touch, is it normal , will that affect the drives?

Re: Volumes and HDD

Swap the drives from left to right and the volume names should change - as for the temperature - how hot is hot?

Seriously - one person's idea of hot may not be another's - mine never gets more than just warm and that is with it running pretty much 24/7, although it is in "sleep" mode most of that time.  You can get a numeric temperature reading fron the status page mines runs around 114*F (46*C) and I'm comfortable with that.

You have this backwards.  Slot 0 is on the right and slot 1 is the left -- Hence why the 500GB is Volume_1.
