5400 to 7200 1TB - Will it slow perf?

Hi everyone - first time poster here!

I am considering buying 2 1TB WD drives that are 5400 to 7200 RPM for my 323.  Right now I have 2 500GB WD 7200 in raid1 in the 323, with stock firmware (1.04).  Will I see big drop in performance with the 5400 to 7200?  I am running on a 100mbps network so will that bottleneck mean I won't notice the slower r/w times on the NAS with the new HD's?  Any other thoughts on this set up?

Here is the link to the new HD:

Thx in advance for any help!

Re: 5400 to 7200 1TB - Will it slow perf?

the bottleneck will be at the lan cuz 100mbps is around 12MB/sec sata drives at 7200 for 1 tb is around 100MB/sec being conservative, even if you drop the speed my half, the bottleneck is at the lan part.

True. Even if you'd use Gigabit the bottlenet would not be the HDDm instead the DNS-323 will limit the performance around 15-17 MB/s (instead of the >70 MB/s a HDD could deliver).
