Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

Fun_plug problems

I did something wrong i guess, while installing the clutch and transmission file. Not sure what i did, btw.

1st symptom: no telnet-access. Putty does not give an error, but shows for a half a second the black screen, and then quits.

What i did to test, was deleting the dmesg.out file, reboot the system and finding that the file was not created. Since it was in the fun_plug file, the problem is linked to the fun_plug.

I recreated the fun_plug, but no effect. I reinstalled the busybox and sed file, but no effect.

Then i found that while recreating the fun_plug, i forgot to add the dmesg line. After a reboot, the dmesg.out file was back. So, parts of the fun_plug file do work. But... still no telnet access.

Then i deleted the ash file, in order to check if it was recreated after reboot. But, that it did not.

Now i'm lost. Does anybody see what i did wrong and/or how to fix it?

Re: Fun_plug problems

Is your fun_plug saved in unix format? http://dns323.kood.org/dsmg600/howto:fu … g_fun_plug

Re: Fun_plug problems

and it broke down again...

It took my all night trying to figure it out what was wrong, but i haven't figured it out yet

I retraced my steps, and re-updated the system like last time. But, no effect. In the end i restored the factory defaults and formatted the disk, but no effect.

Then i started to play with the dmesg out, in order to find out whether it goes through the fun_plug. So when i placed the dmesg.out line inside a IF-FI loop, the dmesg.out was still created. So, the fun_plug works. The thing that doesn't work is the telnet. So, at the end of the standard fun_plug i placed a ps > ps.out command, which worked, and it created the ps.out file.

In this output file of the ps command, the telnetd proces does not show.

Could it then be the busybox? But the busybox that i used is the standard one. I uploaded the busybox via FTP, and chmodded the files, so that is all according to the howto wiki. Who sees what i'm doing wrong?

Re: Fun_plug problems

strange strange so many people use this ....

are you sure that you're using unix eol in your scripts ?
what is your /etc/password ?

You can try the alternative telnet way with utelnetd

Re: Fun_plug problems

I know, so strange indeed. And the thing did work, until i did something wrong. Would like to know what i did to create this situation... And then i used exactly the same files to install it all.

yes, i do know for sure that i used unix eol.

Is there a way to test the busybox file to see if that works? I can use the fun_plug script to call some commands...

EDIT: i got the alternative way to work, but while installing other apps, it didn't work as well as the other busybox.
