I just got dsm-g600 to replace my tape drive. I run SuSE 10.2. I do not have windows. I would like to use the wirless feature. Is there a guide in how to install it. Is there a web interface?
TIA

Bertrand,
Thxs. For some reason I could not get the web interface. Furthermore I find out that only takes a HD 250 max and I had 750GB. So the space will not do it and I do not like to piggyback usbs. So I have just ordered and ait-2 tape drive and I will return the dsm-g600.
Thank you again for you help.

DSM-G600 should take 750GB with no problem.
Web interface is enabled by default, you can find out which IP DSM-G600 gets by looking your router/server dhcp logs or scanning network

Sala,
Thxs.
When I bought it (1) I looked in the box (2) I asked a salesman (?) and I did not see any limitation in the HD size however :
http://support.dlink.com/faq/view.asp?p … n=dsm-g600
Being unable to access the web interface it was probably my fault. I though the HD was formatted and it was not. I was pinging the correct ip because the light was flashing but the web interface never came. Most likely was related to the fact that the drive was not formatted. Is that possible?
In summary to get the web interface you do: (1) be connected to a wired lan (2) fire firefox and type http:// ip number assigned by the router to the device. Is all these correct?
I returned the device and I am using a cheap firewire enclosure now. However I'll get it back if I see I can use it. Again is any of you running HD >250GB? Is the capacity recognized?. I saw one thread in another site that one user had problem to recognize higher capacity so it may be some truth if that FAQ.
Thxs again and have a good day.

Here we have some users running 400gb driver with DSM-G600
http://dns323.kood.org/forum/t151-Maxim … drive.html
Web interface should be accessible even without a hard drive. If your hard drive is not formated the web interface asks you to format it.

At home my box have two adress one is the one i configure or the one from the server
the second adress seems to be fix by the firmware and used by easyconnect (the first i give you).
just 1) put a disk
2) wired the box on your lan
3) connect to the box with firefox
4) click on the button to format the disk if the disk is unformated.

Thxs for your replies. I did all what Bertrand said including of course using the ip address he posted and I got nothing. Most likely the unit was bad. I may try to get another one and try it again.
I have to go to work now :-(.

The default IP address for this unit is 192.168.0.101
If it doesn't work, reset the box by hitting the reset button on the back of the unit with a small screw driver and retry again.
