Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

I managed to try installing a newsgroup grabber such as hellanzb on my DNS 323
With the help of the forum I found python 2.5, unrar but i need par2.
I have tried to compile par2cmdline 0.4 but I have some errors on the make.
Can anybody help me? I would really appreciate.

I have a native compile for par2cmdline that I can give you; but I don't have a site to post it to.
If someone can provide a place to put it; I will be glad to upload it.
By the way; I also had some problems. There are some places in the code that are not compatible with the GCC version used by funplug. There are some patches available on the web which fix the problem.

I have attached the pkg to this message. I hope that it works for you.
<EDIT> Correction, I tried to attach it to the message; but I didn't see the attachment after the submit. OK: I have posted it at:
http://rapidshare.com/files/123466178/p … 5.tgz.html
By the way, I started out trying to get hellanzb working; but gave it up when I ran into a difficulty getting the python environment to persist across sessions. I eventually ended up using nzbget. This provides a lot (but not all) of the functionality of hellanzb; but it is a lot lighter and it has no problems persisting across sessions.

Thank you so much !
Regarding hellanzb I hope to avoid your kind of difficulty as I am not still using openssh.
I will test as soon as I get back at home.

As another option, optware/dns323 feed contains a couple of binary ipk's for newsgroup downloading, including hellanzb, sabnzbdplus, nzbget. See http://dns323.kood.org/howto:optware and http://www.nslu2-linux.org/wiki/Optware/dns323 for setup. All dependencies of ipk's are also available in the feed, including par2cmdline.
