Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

Memory usage firmware 1.04 vs 1.05

I am going to upgrade the two disks in my DNS-323 from 500GBx2 to 1TBx2. Since the DNS is still running 1.03 firmware, I think it is a good idea to upgrade the firmware as well. I heard that the firmware 1.05 has added some new features like the BitTorrent client, so I am wondering if it will use much more memory than 1.04? At this moment I am running mldonkey on my DNS and it works great through Sancho(even if I am in office and the DNS is at home behind a the firewall), but mldonkey usually use at least 30MB memory when I am downloading 3-4 files. Could someone please give me some idea on how much memory is used after a clean reboot with just 1.05/1.04 firmware+fun_plug installed?

Re: Memory usage firmware 1.04 vs 1.05

I tried 1.05. After a clean reboot, only 22MB memory is available with nothing but fun_plug 0.4, comparing to 30-32MB free memory in 1.03.

[Edit]: I notice there are 4 smbd processes running, each occupies 4.5-5.2MB memory. I am wondering if all of them are necessary.
