Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

I want to use DHCP and NetBios name together with BackupPC but he replies that the XP computers name isnt the same as I specifyed. Nmblookup is apparently needed to test the name but it is missing.
I'm using ffp 0.5 together with this howto http://dns323.kood.org/howto:backuppc

You will have to have the whole smb package I believe to get nmblookup
that's why I went the route of specifically specifying each host when I set up the howto
I know this is a late response, it's because I only have my original thread subscribed and I don't check the forums all that often:
http://dns323.kood.org/forum/t2264-Back … rking.html
but I've now subscribed to this one

The samba package has nmblookup. http://www.inreto.de/dns323/fun-plug/0. … html#samba

I would have used samba/nmblookup in my howto, but I never saw the nmblookup binary
Even now, a I don't have nmblookup (or any other samba program)
I've used nmblookup in previous backuppc installations and it would definitely make my setup better
I followed the directions that you had listed on your page when I originally set everything up:
cd /mnt/HD_a2
rsync -av inreto.de::dns323/fun-plug/0.5/packages .
cd packages
funpkg -i *.tgz
but I don't think I got the samba package
Anyway, I just installed samba from your repository, thanks!
