More then two volumes

Hello.
I have DNS-323 (v1.05) with two 500GB Seagate disks.
I'm wondering are there any way to have different volume configuration.
Rigth now I have one 100 GB RAID1 volume and  cca. 800 GB JBOD volume.
I would like to have 100 GB RAID1 volume and 2 400 GB volumes each on one of disks.
Is that possible to achieve or the 2 volume configuration is something hardcoded?

BTW, I don't mind loosing data from disk in order to achieve above configuration.

Regards,

Ratko

Re: More then two volumes

Yes, you can, but you have to do it manually.  Esentially, we will have to remove the JBOD array, then we will need to modify the configuration files stored on each hard drive and the first 2 flash section (mtdblock0 and 1).  Essentially, the config files will be set up as if all you had was the raid1.  Once this is done, you will probably need to create a script for ffp that will mount and share the 2 partitions with Samba.  Who knows, the DNS might do it already, I never tested it with extra space after the raid array.  All my extra space comes from the 1 TB USB drive I have plugged into the back.

DNS-323     F/W: 1.04b84  H/W: A1  ffp: 0.5  Drives: 2X 400 GB Seagate SATA-300
DNS-323     F/W: 1.05b28  H/W: B1  ffp: 0.5  Drives: 2X 1 TB  WD SATA-300
DSM-G600   F/W: 1.02       H/W: B                Drive:  500 GB WD ATA
