Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

I recently upgraded my dns-323 with
1. firmware 1.5
2. two 1tB Harddrives
At first everything went fine, until i decided to use itunes server. I made a mistake and used the one of ht gui. I didn't want to have a password, so i set the password to be empty. Then i saved that and then the problems began:
1. The gui would fail to show the itunes-settings page correctly. Instead it seemed, that the webbrowser crashed. After that it took some time to be able to log into the web-GUI again.
Several times i tried to go to the settings page of itunes, but it would always do the same like in 1.
Then i tried to do some changes directly to the saved configuration file, where i did some mistakes, so the DNS-323 wouldn't boot anymore.
In order not to loose data, i took out the drives, made a reset to factory settings by pushing the reset button in the back.
Then i just put one drive in (unfortunately the left one, because i didn't know better ) and bootet to make sure, that i have one drive, that would be save...
After reloading my settings, that worked, i shut down and put the second drive (right side) into the DNS. After booting it told me, that the drives where i wrong order and that i had to switch them. Anyways i managed to go to the raid page of the gui and it showed, that it was synchronizing so i didn't touch it anymore until the next day.
When checking the sync it told me, that sync was ready and the following output came up in the telnet session:
/mnt/HD_a2 # mdadm --misc -D /dev/md0
/dev/md0:

Nevertheless i can't normally logg into my GUI without having that information, that the drives have to be swaped and reformated.
When i o to the raid page of the gui it says:
HARD DRIVE INFO :

What went wrong, and how can i fix that?
Can you help me with that?
I have a USB-Drive attached to the Box, where i could copy all the files to and then reformat the raid. But first it takes a long time, second i would like to understand and learn what happend in order to prevent that from happeneing in the future.:
The commands:
mount -t minix /dev/mtdblock0 /sys/mtd1
mount -t minix /dev/mtdblock1 /sys/mtd2
cat /sys/mtd1/hd_magic_num
cat /sys/mtd2/hd_magic_num
cat /sys/mtd1/raidtab2web
cat /sys/mtd2/raidtab2web
cat /sys/mtd1/raidtab

cat /mnt/HD_b4/.systemfile/raidtab2web
cat /mnt/HD_a4/.systemfile/raidtab
cat /mnt/HD_b4/.systemfile/raidtab
umount /sys/mtd1
umount /sys/mtd2
produced the following output:

Unfortunately I can't help you with the RAID issue, but just wanted to say that I've always had trouble with the ITunes server and firmware 1.05. It would just crash the browser and I couldn't do anything until restarting the DNS and finally having to reset it to factory defaults.
Now I use MediaTomb instead with ffp 0.5

I currently do a backup to my external USB Hard-Drive. That Mediatomb is better? Where do i find it, and what are the advantages?

Mediatomb is a media server. I never got Itunes to work on the DNS and decided to install firefly according to the HowTo:Firefly instructions. Never managed to install a debian environment so I gave up. Fortunately I saw that Fonz Funplug 0.5 had Mediatomb included so I tested. Now I have my music library streamed from the DNS tp my Pinnacle Soundbridge. The only advantage so far is that Mediatomb works for me and Itunes never did. I'd say quite an advantage :-)
Check http://mediatomb.cc for more info.

thanks a lot. but that Mediatomb does not really fix the issues with my raid... What can I do to fix the fact, that the gui shows no raid volume but the command line says it is ok?
I still get the Message:
"The hard drives have been installed incorrectly. Please power off and swap hard drive locations."
when i log into the Web-Interface.

I don't have a raid configuration so on that point I cannot help you. Sorry.
