DNS-323 and mapping to Vista Media Center

Hi all,

Brand new owner of a DNS-323 and 2 Seagate 1TB drives configured as JBOD.

I have not mapped any drives from the 323 to my Vista machine, but rather access it via its network name. When I try to add a new watch folder in Vista MC the only option I get is to add \\media-nas\Volume_1 and cannot get into any folders within that.

While the main purpose of the NAS is for media, there will be other folders on it I do not necessarily want exposed to media center.

Also, if the entire \\media-nas\Volume_1 is listed as a watched folder, how will Media center discern what collections to list where?

Thanks
Michael

Re: DNS-323 and mapping to Vista Media Center

Setup a new share with the directory you want for MC.  Then in MC you select that one.  Right now, you probably only have 1 share available on the DNS, and that is "Volume_1".  Keep in minde thant "Volume_1" is a share, not a disk nor a directory.  It happens to (most likely) correspond to the directory /mnt/HD_a2/ on the DNS.
