Hi there!

I just spent some hours trying to use the SmartMonTools' smartd with the -m switch to send error reports by email under ffp 0.5. (See http://smartmontools.sourceforge.net/man/smartd.8.html for information). Simply using -m and a mail address does not work as there does not seem to be the program required (mail). I then tried to install and configure mailx, but to no avail. I could not make it send any mails. Could anyone please help me and tell me how send mails on a CH3SNAS? And how I can get the smartd -m to work?

FYI:

I put the following lines in the smartd.conf (under /ffp/etc) and - except for the mail trouble - it seems to work as expected:

/dev/sda -d marvell -m ***@*********.de -M test
/dev/sdb -d marvell -m ***@*********.de -M test

I tried to edit nail.rc in the same directory too, adding the following lines at the end:

#SMTP Server
set smtp-use-starttls
set smpt=post.strato.de
set pop=post.strato.de
set from="Conceptronic CH3SNAS SmartMonTools"
set smtp-auth-user=***@*********.de
set smtp-auth-password=**********

I'm so wasted...
